Snowy Morning at the Holden Arboretum

Looking for Sunrise Light in a Snowstorm

This morning I headed over to the conifer collection at the arboretum.

I was hopeful there would be some light this morning at sunrise.

Unfortunately, the only light I really got was from what I think was light pollution from Mentor.

It lit up things pretty well…

These were all taken well before sunrise, and I love how the color turned out.

In time it got lighter and everything just got gray and flat.

I decided to scope out another area and maybe get some wildlife images.

On the way to Baldwin Fields I stopped in the middle of the road for this shot.

I’ve always loved this cool farm, and with the snow and the horses, it was a treat.

Once I got to Baldwin, I parked the jeep and walked along the dirt road along the woodline.

I was hoping for deer, owls, or any other wildlife.

It was cold, and snowy and I was mostly alone until I found these critters…

Since the weather didn’t improve I decided to head home.

While on the road, just before crossing the interstate I saw this coyote off in a field. I had to stop and try to photograph him.

I got a couple of shots before he took off. I was surprised to see him so close to people.

He’s mostly obstructed by the grass, but he was a big one.

Have a great weekend everyone.
